IVF Abroad
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Abroad
Women suffering from ovulation difficulties, damage to uterine organs and other problems that prevent pregnancy benefit from fertilization treatments. Men suffering from infertility caused by low sperm counts or damage to reproductive organs also benefit from treatments.
What is IVF?
In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a process by which egg cells are fertilized by sperm outside of the womb, in vitro. IVF is a major treatment in infertility when other methods of assisted reproductive technology have failed. The process involves hormonally controlling the ovulation process, removing ova (eggs) from the woman’s ovaries and letting sperm fertilize them in a fluid medium. The fertilized egg (zygote) is then transferred to the patient’s uterus with the intent to establish a successful pregnancy.
In infertile couples where women have blocked or absent fallopian tubes, or where men have low sperm counts, IVF offers a chance at parenthood to couples who until recently would have had no hope of having a “biologically related” child.
In IVF, eggs are surgically removed from the ovary and mixed with sperm outside the body in a Petri dish. After about 40 hours, the eggs are examined to see if they have become fertilized by the sperm and are dividing into cells. These fertilized eggs (embryos) are then placed in the woman’s uterus, thus bypassing the fallopian tubes.

Unlike the expensive options in the US and the UK, you can get your fertility services in Thailand at an affordable price. Most couples are turning to IVF overseas due to the attractive combination of international medical standards and costs for each cycle of IVF.
Couples traveling abroad for IVF are attracted to the affordable price, exceptional quality of health care, and a higher success rate by fertility specialists that are educated in the US and Europe. Fertility hospitals are accredited by international organizations established to monitor and establish international standards. International organizations such as JCI (Joint Commission International) is a private sector United States based non-profit organization, whose mission is “to continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public.”
The recent trend in medical tourism has attracted a lot of attention on major procedures such as cardiovascular and cosmetic surgery, however, recent reports from MSNBC and Newsweek are indicating that couples are traveling abroad for infertility treatment. Partly fueled by international travel being less complex and cooperating governments realizing the economic trend of health care abroad.
Cost of IVF abroad
In many cases of infertility it takes 3 or more cycles of IVF treatment before the desired pregnancy happens. The average price of an IVF cycle in Britain is approximately 4000 – 4300 GBP, which means that a couple can easily spend 12 000 on 3 attempts of IVF. Fertility clinic Nadiya offers price that you are able to save thousands of pounds even after adding your travel expenses. For the sum of money you would spend on one cycle in the United Kingdom you can have 2 cycles at Nadiya clinic. Obviously, this means double chances of pregnancy.
Additional, you also need to look at the fact that in the UK maximum two embryos can be implanted in one fertilization cycle, but a lot of couples would have more chances with extra embryos. At the fertility clinic Nadiya, up to 3 embryos can be transferred which can also increase chances of getting pregnant. Your circumstances will be carefully analysed and than Nadiya’s infertility specialist will make a joint decision with you about the ideal amount of embryos being transferred (keeping the number of multiple pregnancies down but giving the most effective fertility solution).
