Cost of IVF

What is the Cost of IVF?

Our goal from the time you enter New Hope Fertility to the hopeful day you bring your precious new baby home, is to ensure this will be a gentle, stress-free and, ultimately, joyous experience for you. Minimizing financial stress is also a big part of our ongoing gentle IVF commitment. That is why we have decided to accept most insurance plans, making our fertility care more accessible to all. We will even file your insurance claims to eliminate this administrative burden for you. In addition, because natural cycle IVF and Mini-IVFTM treatments are less invasive and use less medication, their overall cost is normally 30 to 40 percent less than the conventional IVF procedure.

Any fees not covered by insurance are due in full prior to consultation and treatment. We accept cash, money orders, and most major credit cards.

Infertility Insurance

As a courtesy, we will obtain all pre-authorizations required, if any, and file all in-network claims paperwork for you. If you do not have IVF coverage, please be advised that many insurance companies can and may deny payment for your ovarian monitoring — including visits, blood tests and/or sonograms — if the treatment is in preparation for an IVF cycle.

Prior to your initial consultation, we will contact your insurance provider to get a comprehensive understanding of your fertility coverage and discuss it with you. If you decide to proceed, we will also obtain all pre-authorizations required and file all in-network claims paperwork for you. You will not be required to pay anything other than for treatments not covered by your insurance, co-pays, out-of-network charges and deductibles.

You should also know that some state laws require that insurance providers cover fertility care, but each state’s requirements are unique. Insurance plans written in New York are mandated by law to provide coverage for infertility treatment and diagnosis. However, IVF is excluded from the mandate. In New Jersey and Connecticut, state law mandates that insurance companies pay for expenses related to the diagnosis and treatment of  infertility, in vitro fertilization and fertility drugs. These laws vary by state.

Making Sense of the Cost of IVF

Cost of IVFThe cost of infertility treatment is a concern for most people since the majority of insurance plans do not cover most infertility treatments. Even if some insurance coverage is available it often doesn’t help with the most expensive treatments like IVF. This creates a difficult situation for many couples that want to have children but are afraid they may not be able to afford the cost involved with having them. Over the past few years, seemingly attractive financial options have appeared from some infertility clinics, which on the surface make it appear as if the costs associated with the most expensive infertility procedures may be significantly reduced. Unfortunately, most of these plans are deceptive in their claim to offer affordable or discount pricing to couples in need. A closer look at the way a few of the more common purported cost saving plans work reveals that these plans are not really what they claim to be.
